A client portal on the same record as your advice.
Clients add their details, prepare for reviews and follow their plan in their own portal. What they enter lands on the client record, and what you approve appears in their portal.
What a client portal means in fp one.
The portal is the client's side of the client record. It is a web app that works on desktop, tablet and phone, and clients can add it to their home screen, where it opens like an app under your practice's name.
Clients start with an online fact-find, and a couple can fill it in from two devices without overwriting each other's answers. Before a review, a preparation step is pre-filled from the record, so clients update what has changed rather than starting again. Risk profile and wellbeing check-in questions are answered online too.
What clients enter flows into the client file, flagged as entered by the client, so the adviser can see what changed and verify it.
What clients can do in the portal.
Their plan in one place
An overview of cash, holdings, cover, returns and net wealth, with progress over time, the Financial Health Check, goals and a cash flow budget.
Advice they can read
An approved SoA or RoA reaches the portal as an interactive, tabbed document, with the full version a click away, alongside strategies, modelling and education guides.
Secure chat and uploads
Clients message the practice team in a secure chat, send photos and upload documents. Advice given in a chat can be recorded as a Record of Advice.
Preview and alerts
Adviser preview shows exactly what the client sees, and portal activity appears in the adviser's notification bell.
What stays with the adviser.
You choose what the client sees. Modelling, strategies and documents reach the portal when you publish or approve them, and an approved document can be recalled from the portal. The Financial Services Guide sits on the portal; when no FSG date is on file, a client's first sign-in is recorded as the day they could first read it. The portal and secure chat are encrypted in transit and at rest.
Who it suits.
Practices that want onboarding, review preparation and client conversations in one place, on the record the advice is built from. It suits clients who deal with their adviser from a phone as much as those at a desk, and it is designed to reduce re-keying between what clients tell you and the file.
Questions advisers ask.
Do clients need to download an app?
No. The portal is a web app on desktop, tablet and phone. Clients can add it to their home screen, where it opens like an app.
Do client entries change the file?
Yes. They land on the client record, flagged as entered by the client, so you can see what the client changed and check it.
Can I see what my client sees?
Yes. Adviser preview shows the client's portal as the client sees it, with nothing added but a preview banner.
How do clients get started?
A short tour walks them through the portal on their first sign-in. The Prepare tab comes first: the fact-find for a new client, review preparation for an existing one.
